At your first visit to our office, diagnostic records are usually made to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and X-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.
After the doctor has evaluated your records, we discuss your treatment with you in detail, including the cost for your particular case.
The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes an hour and a half. You'll then see us at regular intervals of 4 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes about 15 minutes. Our regular office hours are from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. We are in our Worcester office Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and in our Newton office Mondays and Wednesdays. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made 4 to 8 weeks in advance.
Parents and patients assume responsibility for a regularly maintained appointment schedule. Late arrivals do pose a problem and in all fairness to other patients, we may have to reschedule your appointment for another day if you are late.
Should a bracket or band become loose, please advise our office prior to your regular adjustment appointment. We will try to accommodate you at your regular visit, but it may be necessary to schedule another time, depending on the urgency of the disturbance and the schedule for the day.
Prior to beginning any orthodontic treatment, your family dentist should make certain that all cavities have been treated and the health of your gums and underlying bone are free of periodontal disease. It is strongly recommended that regular 6-month dental check-ups be continued by your dentist during treatment. We are only an aid to your family dentist and not a replacement.
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. This investment is well worth it when considering the benefits of a healthy smile while reducing the need for expensive dental care when orthodontic problems are treated in a timely manner. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. Our office is pleased to offer flexible, interest-free payment options and payment methods such as Visa, MasterCard, and debit to assist you in your investment towards a beautiful smile. We also accept most insurance plans and will file the necessary papers to the insurance company. Please notify us immediately if insurance is terminated or changed at anytime during orthodontic treatment as payment plans may need to be modified. We will work hard to make orthodontics affordable for you.
In the event that the patient moves to another area, the account shall be adjusted and just settlement made in proportion to the services rendered to date.back to the top ^
